To be fair in education we rarely go over holidays other than in passing on the actual day or the day before the day off of school. Juneteenth is June 19, school is usually not in session not even summer school. I did this year go over it on the last day of school with students. There’s only six hours in the school day.

When are we gonna get a holiday for Latinos and Asians I’m honestly starting to feel alienated as a Mexican American all I see on social media, TV and radio is about black people or trump loving white people weres my people weres our representation I call on all latinos to go to the streets and ask for our respect too im sick of ppl making some kind of joke because of my heritage no not everything is muy picante arriba arriba ay ay ayy literally what i hear from coworkers and literal strangers so weres the fairness ever since I was a kid the people I’ve seen with power are all black never have I’ve seen a brown man flaunting millions of dollars all I want is equality for my people too just like blacks and whites

As an American, it Is My Duty to know as much about Black and Indigenous figures in history as I know about the Pilgrims. Seems to me, raised white and female and nearing 60, that Indigenous examples of Democracy and Black examples of Grace and Determination are FAR MORE central to the America that I want to live in than the narrow view of Salvation and humanity practiced by the Pilgrims, who basically wanted the “religious freedom” to discriminate against other religions. Now, That’s a bit of history we should expunge and stop practicing!!!

Another holiday? What a joke. They would have been happier if we abolished the police.

Imagine being a slave for two years because you didn’t read the newspaper! Should have paid attention in school

I am happy for the new Juneteenth holiday. I hope it will always be celebrated with the truth of how slavery ended in America.

Down with racist Democrat slaveowners. Thank you Lincoln and the Republicans for freeing the slaves after the Civil War.
