As protests for Gaza ramp up on college campuses, the de-escalation effort doesn’t seem to be…de-escalating. Ronny Chieng and Jordan Klepper break down the police crackdown, as well as politicians like Mike Johnson and Benjamin Netanyahu weighing in. #DailyShow #Gaza #CollegeProtests
In the last six months, there have been numerous pro-Palestinian protests. However, many politicians might now be wary of student protests because historically, several significant political revolutions and movements have originated from universities or been heavily influenced by students.
ReplyWhat are the factors that has given such fiery passions towards support for Palestinian causes in American centres of higher learnings across the USA?
ReplyPretty amazing how “No-Leg” Greg is able to convince the police to storm campuses in Texas and make arrests. I thought TX cops preferred to handle incidents happening at a school by standing around OUTSIDE the school twiddling their thumbs and checking their phones.
I guess that’s just the priorities in TX though:
ReplyElementary school children being ripped to pieces by AR-15 fire? “Eh, no real rush to handle that, right? I’m sure the guy will tire himself out eventually.”
College kids protesting Israel? “THEY MUST BE STOPPED!!!”
❤peaceful protest❤
ReplyStudents are asking for the violence and genocide to be stopped. The 1% elite response was “I will use more violence to stop what your are advocating”! This shows a deep seated issue of the 1% elite does not understand what the ordinary Americans needs but collectively they control the whole USA government and economy tightly. This is the 1% vs the 99%!
ReplyCrazy how fox will talk about January 6th being mostly peaceful and protected protest, then call college students setting up tents “violent” “rioters” and say we need the national guard, crazy how blatantly they lie
ReplyHawlingAss
ReplyNetanyahu using the word unconscionable… quite comic if it were not also tragic
ReplyProtesting is a first amendment protected activity. How about allow people to exercise their 1st amendment right by protesting?
ReplyUSA saying disproportionate use of force. Get outside ur country first ignorance hypocrisy 😂😂😂👎👎
ReplyI wonder from where so many flags have entered US?
ReplyHonestly, I can feel how careful even The Daily Show staff are because Israel is involved. Still, thanks for covering this, quite well.
ReplyThe Rabid Right is stoking the flames to remove yet another university president. They have worked since the time of Ronald Reagan to undermine our public education systems. They see these protests as a way to prove their claims that “wokeness” is bad. They prefer zombies to students who can think for themselves.
ReplyThese who respond here never actually heard what those protesters chant.
ReplyJosh Holly should have stayed and shook those ” patriots” hands since they were just “peaceful protesting”.
ReplyYet he ran away when they entered the Capitol…
1968
ReplyI just wish that pro-Palestine protesters actually cared about freedom.
ReplyAnti-semitism? Half the protestors are Jewish. Shame on Columbia and governor Abbott for sending police to attack and arrest students, go fight real crime not suppress first amendment free speech. Mike Johnson is the terrorist
ReplyWhy are they protesting?
ReplyWhat acts of “antisemitism” are you referring to?
There are many Jews among the protesters.
Propaganda is alive and well in the US, it seems…
