“History is not always a great teacher. Leadership matters, and we are in a crisis of leadership in the world.” CNN Chief International Anchor Christiane Amanpour sits down with Jon Stewart to discuss the unprecedented difficulty in covering the war in Gaza, the squashed Middle East peace process of the 1990s, and Muslim countries abandoning Palestinians. Christiane also discusses showcasing diverse viewpoints and opinions on her show, “The Amanpour Hour,” including one Israeli woman who told her, “We must make friends with our enemies, otherwise we will keep dying.” #DailyShow #JonStewart #ChristianeAmanpour
Well, that was a lot of words.

Replyfailure by government to recognize and call out genocide is complicity in genocide , every person in a democracy complicit in genocide can be held to account for complicity in genocide and are required to resist complicity in genocide by their governments and institutions under international law .
ReplyCA is pure class. Too few of her ilk in media today…
ReplyI love John Stewart and I truly appreciate Christiane’s amazing depth of knowledge on the situation. I have to admit that I was getting annoyed at how often John interrupted her midstream – it happened a LOT. I don’t know if he was trying to steer the conversation, conserve time, or just passionate about the topic, but it bordered on disrespect, IMHO.
Reply8:54 I would love for her to explain when Israel ever had the moral high ground in invading a land where they were outnumbered by Arabs 200 to 1, a land they took over using any means they could. And what did they do to achieve that moral high ground of taking said land, most of it illegally, and all of it immorally.
Replythey NEVER had the moral high ground.
ReplyOne of the few guest where I was interested in what they had to say.
ReplyJournalists like Christiane are rare these days, everyone else is pandering in hyperbole.
Replywe all are palestinians now
ReplyThis started wayyyyyyy before the 7th. But nice try.
Israel holds some 4,450 Palestinians – including 160 children, 32 women, and 530 administrative detainees – in prison.
At least 20,772 Palestinians have been killed since 2000 BEFORE the 7th. How was Palestine not defending itself?
Reply“It is an unprecedented situation” talking about journalists killed. Mexico would like to have a word with you.
ReplyPlease interview Motaz Azaiza
ReplyShe is very biased
ReplyJohn, I agree. But…why do we not say and want the same for Ukraine…all the countries in Africa that have been waring for decades…? I mean, yes, I agree about a cease-fire and getting rid of Netanyahu; but there seems to be a “double-standard”.
ReplyBig fan of Amanpour.
ReplyJohn, I know you are passionate but let your guest finish her sentence! She is why I watched.
ReplyHow is this the responsibility of Arab countries?
ReplyThey should bare no responsibility in helping Israel displace Palestinians
So sick of hearing that Israel has the right to defend itself… what about the Palestinians? Do they have the right to defend themselves against an oppressive invader?
ReplyThe eclipse is bring the country together? You just told me that Fox News was warning of extra border crossings due to eclipse darkness. The country seems to be maintaining its divided status just fine.
