Those long single shots have pluses and minuses. I always liked the one at the start of Roger Rabbit. (Now I tried to find it on YouTube and can’t. Am I just imagining it happened?)

I recall that segment and the fact that I don’t remember anything except Godfrey Cambridge as a stand up comedian means the non-Spielberg version they used sucked.

I have to agree with some other commentators here: please just release the full Spielberg interview in one video. These clips are just enough to infuriate an audience on YouTube.

I absolutely loved the film “1941” – also a favourite of my Father. “Raul, … Raul Lipschitz made him double over with laughter.

Studio executives are morons. For the most part.

I have seen several thing Spielberg did for TV before he did Duel and Jaws….some of them are very good…..Night Gallery Pilot, The Columbo episode…..LA 2017 was part of “Name of the Game” series and that was good.
Spielberg doesn’t think highly of that era, but some of it was very good.

I have not seen a Director yet, who is not a walking ego and none of them really deserve it. All they do is bastardized a story that someone else is already told.

That 1st episode Night Gallery was so good! The series freaked me out as a child even in reruns

Love it that Spielberg was able to shine over the suites and have the last word 15-20 years later. Outstanding guy

I first saw the ‘Make Me Laugh’ part of ‘Night Gallery’ on TV in the ’80s and was surprised at how flat and conventional it seemed for Spielberg (I have since seen some of his other more workman-like TV stuff that is similarly unimpressive) but I had no idea it had been reshot by another, uncredited, director!
