ReplyTrump did NOT want to pull out of NATO, he demanded that ALL of NATO start paying their fair share of the cost of our mutual defense (2%GDP per member state). For decades our “allies” and “friends” of NATO have been using their defense funds to pay for their social programs, not our mutual defense…that bill was taken care of by us, UK, Estonia and Poland. Trump said enough is enough of that and because he did, NATO is now paying up and able to stand up to Russia. The anti-Trump coalition can try to paint Trump as a Putin stooge all they want, only the utterly ignorant or an imbecile believes any of that nonsense at this point. But whatever, haters can hate all they want it still doesn’t change one inescapable FACT….Trump is long gone and Putin invaded a year into BIDEN’S watch…period.

ReplyI don’t think Trump actually wanted to pull out of NATO. His NATO stuff was about us paying way more than everyone else and if they didn’t match our level of commitment then we were going to pull out. Trying to get other countries to invest more is actually very different from trying to pull out to break up NATO and strengthen Russia.

ReplyNATO was weak when Trump got elected, because most of the members were deadbeats who did not want to fund it. NATO was a joke. German soldiers were using broomsticks for trainning.
When Trump left, NATO was stronger, because he told the members if they didn’t want to pay, the U.S would leave. By the time he left, most of the deadbeats committed to pay more
Pretty disappointing that the author of one of my favorite books, Mel Brooks SON, has bowed to the woke mob. His fathers movies have (miraculously) survived the cancel culture mob so far, but his son has adopted the “I support the current thing..” mentality..
