I love how everyone just collectively decided to embrace Matt, despite how terribly received his jokes were.

I wonder if Matt purposely cultivated a dorky look and persona, for years even, just so when we saw the new photo of Cool Matt it would. Blow. Us. Away.

You’ve said that jokes from Surprise Inspection are completely unusable for the show, but you are using em after all.

I have a hard time believing that most of the writers don’t watch the show, at all. To see how a joke they wrote went over, whatever. Especially their friends, who watch the show because their friend writes on it (and, you know, it’s not a bad show), probably let them know if they were in a segment such as this.

I totally guessed the cucumber joke was Scollins before the reveal, even with the “would you feel better if that joke was written by a woman?” subterfuge.

Wait… “You all get what you deserve”?

Don’t you mean, “You all deserve what you get”?

Most of these jokes were legitimately funny! Several were a bit low-brow, I suppose, but a lot of these got laughs out of me.

You say the jokes are unusable but technically including them in this sketch means they are being used. It’s the Meyers Paradox.
