The Lost Daughter was fantastic, dare should I say a masterpiece. One of my favourite movies of the 2021, as a feature directorial debut for Maggie, it’s a phenomenal debut for her. I’m hoping that this movie could get more recognition at award shows considering how tough the competition is for now. She truly deserved that Golden Osella Award for Best Screenplay at the Venice Film Festival

The Lost Daughter was VERY boring. It was well-acted but, to me, it was also utterly pointless…and why was Ed Harris even in it? Hardly any screen time. I am perfectly fine with films that have little or no, “action” but, throughout the film, I was repeatedly asking myself, “What’s the point?”. Completely forgettable. In fact, what was I just writing about??? Oh, and the central character…what a sh!thead! A crappy wife and mother stealing a little girl’s doll and not saying anything until a bunch of time had passed and everything had become SO much more difficult for her and her family. Glad she took a hairpin to the gut…

i get it. acting is super limiting. often not even creative at all. maggie taking the power back and directing is such a good message and relevant.
