Tom Hanks tells Stephen that Baz Luhrmann was the perfect director to take on the sparkly glamour of Elvis Presley’s life, and wardrobe, in the new film, “Elvis,” which opens in theaters next Friday. Stick around for one more segment with the great Tom Hanks! #Colbert #TomHanks #Elvis
Uh oh, so it’s gonna be terrible then.
ReplyI really hope that this is Baz Luhrmann’s first movie that isn’t a pill to watch
ReplyI think I finally have to learn how to make a meme so I can use Tom Hanks faux crying about wanting to have sex with Elvis.
Replywhy is there a 3 minutes segment
ReplyI still don’t get Elvis’s appeal
ReplyWill Tom Hanks look fabulous in a jumpsuit
ReplyTom Hanks was selling this movie like his bank account depended on it. Sheesh. He was on fire.
ReplyOld neck is terrifying to me. Anyone can age gracefully, but the neck always tells.
ReplyWhat an actor, Tom is! And so animated and excited to be sharing his info/stories. Always a treat!
ReplyI appreciate that at least Tom pronounced “Baz” correctly. Having worked with him he would’ve heard it all the time in Australia. It’s kind of funny when you think of Baz Luhrmann you think of all the glitz and glamour of movies like Moulin Rouge but the name Baz is short for Barry and Baz is hardly a glitzy name. Somehow he made it work.
ReplyI love how excited Tom got when he thought of that story and said he wanted to tell it. For someone who must have a million stories and has done a thousand talk show appearances there;s something very endearing about Tom getting almost giddy with excitement just telling a showbiz story.
ReplyBlack eyes???? Elvis eyes were blue
ReplyI want a tom banks and Jeff goldblum show/podcast
ReplyColbert is a pretty bad host in my opinion. See the way he just lets Tom’s anecdote die before awkwardly cutting to the ad? How about laughing and then segue to the ad?
ReplyHe hates it when guests are funny and gets jealous when they get a laugh, so he tries to kill it. A real tool.
