Michael Kosta tackles the Biden administration’s new standard for limiting so-called “forever chemicals” in drinking water, the USPS’s announcement to raise the price of postage stamps, and Democrats’ call for Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor to retire. Plus, Troy Iwata joins to offer up some youthful options as her replacement. #DailyShow #SCOTUS #SoniaSotomayor
They don’t have enough control of the senate to get a quick confirmation?
ReplyWay too late. PFAS is everywhere, in everything, heck at this point, half the population is pouring PFAS down the drain into the water system without even knowing it. ask a driller or somebody that does surveys / samples. There is no getting rid of it and most of us already have it in our bloodstream.
ReplyMichael Kosta’s been killing it lately. Love this for him.
ReplySo you’re telling me that there is literally no standard for drinking water in the US? I always knew that you can put pretty much whatever you want into your food, but water? In Germany many people only drink tap water, it’s monitored better than bottled water 😅 Government regulations aren’t necessarily a bad thing.
ReplyPost office is cool, but it was a lot cooler when it had free banking for… EVERYONE! That’s a real thing that used to be .
ReplySoto mayor crimen amendeme
Replyyah sure. What else is in that bill
ReplyYou nao alluda
ReplyShe better frigging retire.
ReplyCorrect. It was honestly so egoistic of RBG to stay on, when people were calling for her to retire in 2013 (at age 80) when Democrats had both the presidency and the Senate. (I feel obliged to point out that I have equally called for men in similar situations to step down, such as Breyer in 2022. Also, Biden should not have run for reelection when his age is such an issue in voters’ minds this time.) Sotomayor at 69 is only a tad younger than them, and is past retirement age. And can you really guarantee that Democrats will have the presidency and the Senate again in the next decade? Seriously, why risk it?
ReplyI visited San Francisco, Las Vegas and Sedona in 2019 and I was shocked about the quality of the water that came out of the faucets, but also the water we would sometimes get for free in restaurants. it smelled so much like bleach that I did not dare to drink it. coming from europe this was crazy to me, I did not excpect that at all.
ReplyJustice Robomayor.
ReplyRuth was a bad person for not stepping down. She should have stepped down between 2008 and 2010 (age 75-77). Had she stepped down, the abortion ruling would have been 5-4, not 6-3. If Obama would have NOT proposed the overly cautious Merrick Garland (ever notice how freaking LONG it took the overly cautious justice department to indict Donald Trump – so long that NONE of his trials WILL happen in 2024?!?!!), then Roe vs. Wade would still be the law of the land …
Reply7:54 Doogie Howser, Supreme Justice!
ReplyTroy is one of the best new additions to the TDS crew! Love him.
ReplyThey should replace justice Sotomayor with AOC.
ReplyI also REALLY HATE how it has become a race to appoint the Youngest possible justice, when before it used to be about judicial record, decisions made and if they’d make a worthy appointment to the bench.
ReplyIts not a democratic country when live apointed judges can decide on almost every rule there is….
ReplyBetter water in every state (especially states that had fracking.) Should be more a priority than the border. PIFAS make our throats feel like we need another drink. Carbon monoxide from cars, are way worse than second hand cigarette smoke.
ReplyGun violence, alcohol and drugs (from pharmacies too), are more of a national security threat than “The Mexicans”. And way more deaths from those, than abortions. But Republicans ignore all that. Because of lobbyists. Top lobbyist at the moment the Real Estate Association. Hence the massive amount of developments.
Who is this guy?????
