Bradley Cooper’s “Maestro” Catches Giants of the Twentieth Century

Bradley Cooper’s new film about Leonard Bernstein includes tantalizing nods to some of Bernstein’s contemporaries like Aaron Copland and Jerome Robbins. “Maestro” is in select theaters now and begins streaming on Netflix on December 20th.

    Yes, Mahler No.2 is life changing and proof of something greater than all of us. That London performance with Bernstein is one of the greatest achievements in human expression.

    He moved just like him! I had a crush on Bernstein in my teens. Yes, a beautiful man. Cooper is too, and absolutely brilliant. I love the body of work he is creating. One day someone will do a film about him.

    An epic “Raging Bull” type of transformation. I barely recognize Bradley. Robert De Niro gained something like 50 lbs for the role. Looks like Bradley lost 50. Looking forward to the film, bigtime!

    Bernstein’s “Conducting” was always exceptional. He had good intentions and big emotions, but this type of conduction only could work with pro-orchestras, which actually doesn’t need a conductor. 🎉
