James congratulates Sam Mendes on his new film “Empire of Light” which was inspired by the director’s mother and was written with Olivia Colman specifically in mind. Then Olivia and Micheal share a funny story that happened while the two filmed a sex scene for the film. And after Olivia recalls an unfortunate Spanx-related wardrobe mishap on set, Sam Mendes tells James about how a chance encounter with a tipsy Daniel Craig led to Sam directing “Spectre” and “Skyfall”.

ReplyThe story about forgetting lines on stage… I played the Black Knight at our school play when I was 7… All I had to do was lose a sword fight to King Arthur…. BUT My dad was in the audience. And I knew I could beat the crap out of King Arthur…. So, I broke script, beat the day lights out of King Arthur…. he’s in tears, I have his nose blood on my fists, EVERYONE is in total uproar and I get suspended… And dad wouldn’t talk to me for “shaming the family”. Art is pain and all that…
