If you came out of lockdown with lots of food to eat, drinks to drink, and friends to tongue kiss– lucky you! But thanks to toxic media messaging from the weight loss industry, many people are too busy feeling guilty about their post-pandemic bodies to celebrate. Part 1 of 2.

Jokes on the weight loss industry.
ReplyI’m a bodybuilder. Losing weight and suddenly gaining it back year in year out is just how I live my life normally.
I have a lot of self hatred. This hype media just makes it worse.
ReplyDon’t have to worry about getting back in those jeans if you never go back to the oppression of pants!

ReplyI made a point of starting better eating habits and took up walking because weight gain was talked about early on in the pandemic. Managed to do a quarantine -45
Reply“Now you can do all the exercises that you couldn’t do before because they were too expensive. You can do them from home now.”
Y’know, if you’re not one of the millions and millions of people who lost your job or saw your wages take a nosedive because of the pandemic, of course. Because if you are, then it’s probably still too expensive for you, but even more so now.
ReplyWe are adults, we don’t have “excuses”, we have reasons.

The emotional pressure to lose weight is inversely proportional to the physical pressure of weight gain
ReplyAnd just like that I got a dieting ad right after this.
ReplyI actually lost weight during quarantine. Really helped me establish a constant workout routine.
ReplyIt isn’t easy, & I thought it was just me gaining weight. There were other serious issues going on for me, besides the plague & not seeing any of my support system, that just feels so difficult.
ReplyBut dont worry, the soccer mom down the street has a sweet lil’ MLM formula to help you lose weight & money-at the same time
Side note-Sam+team- you guys should cover MLMs & how they prey on disabled women, military wives, & women just looking to make friends, all while promising weight loss, better health, etc
ReplyJohn Oliver did a great segment, but i’d like to hear a woman’s take & also from some of your women employees & their experiences.
I thought we agreed to call any quarantine weight gain “The COVID 19”, so we could also avoid talking about it.
ReplyObesity was the number one factor in those who died or were hospitalised with Covid!!
ReplyLadies – word of advice change all your social media to male. I did it 10 years ago to get rid of those pesky weight loss
ReplyAds and it works a treat.
So, does the HJ talk mean that Samantha Bee is starting up an Only Fans account?
