Besides their ability to legally insider trade as it is next to impossible to hold them accountable, you get people like Santos who want such a prestigious position, not because they care about the people they serve, but because of how much money they will make.

ReplyOver 8 trillion spent in just 4 years from 45, no big deal. Record profits going overwhelmingly to the 1% during that period also isn’t enough. Now they want to cut programs because the rich must get richer. Meanwhile conservatives vote to pretend history isn’t history and protect the sanctity of bathrooms.
