Fun fact: Huey Long had an uncannily similar presidential campaign to Donald Trump’s in the 1930s. FDR saw him as extremely dangerous to democracy and he was a legitimate contender until thankfully assassinated.

If Trump and his lawyers are claiming that a sitting president can order SEAL Team Six to kill his political opponents, and SCOTUS is unwilling to immediately and unambiguously declare such claims to be criminally insane – well, what is stopping the current sitting president from taking them at their word and, well, acting accordingly? Sure, Biden is too decent and patriotic to do stage a violent insurrection, and they know it. But what is SCOTUS’ plan for after they help bring Trump back to power, and he starts killing his opponents? SCOTUS does not have an army or a police force, its considerable power lies solely in the respect and authority it commands – and both of those are running dangerously low, due to some of the justices’ despicably partisan and corrupt actions, including this one.
