They’re always so full of energy and great ideas when they first start. Then 5-10 years later, they’re all multi-millionaires with massive corporate backers and suddenly the speeches go from common sense to sugarcoated nothing-speak and spinning in circles. I really love this new generation of people in congress (Katie Porter, AOC, and several others), but they’ll be corrupted before we realize.
