Yes. The original Star Wars was titled Star Wars. It was NOT called a new hope.

For those complaining about the name of the first Star Wars movie, it *was* just that. It was a stand alone movie in 1977.
“They” – being Lucasfilm or whomever – added the Episode IV: A New Hope bit at some time after. Maybe for George Lucas to do the prequel ideas.
Those of us that saw the original back in 1977, we can assure everybody there was no “Episode IV: A New Hope” in the opening credits. When I bought the series on VHS all three definitely had the episode numbers.
I must admit, though, I can’t recall if The Empire Strikes Back was *always* called Episode V because I only saw it once in the theatre.

She’s done some phenomenal work and is such a brilliant actress, natural and believable in everything she does. I doubt she rates it in her pantheon of best work but there will always be a special place in my heart for her Evie in The Mummy. Intelligent, feisty, funny, charming. And with Brendan Fraser’s recent triumph, one of the few action adventure flicks to star two Academy Award winners. They had wonderful chemistry. Even this far on, would be nice to see them reunited in something.

I watched Star Wars three times the first week it was released. That’s how old I am. Now I find the whole franchise disgusting , along with that Tolkien thing that Stephen likes, and his Catholic thing, which he keeps under wraps for the most part. And yet, I like him. It’s hard to understand.
