Kids under the age of 18 should be completely banned from the internet except for documentaries and educational programs unless they have straight A’s or at least a b+ average. That will get them to do their homework and get their grades up. The same should go for driver’s license. I think kids can be licensed at 16 as long as they have a b+ average
Hmmmm. I totally agree, but how are you going to tell a married woman (12 is legal in some states) that they can’t use social media? I WANT that poor 12-year-old to use it to find help and get out of that state.
How long before the first black market app starts being sold to bypass the ban. And kids start stealing from their parents in order to buy it. Prohibition works sooooo well.
My grandchildren weekend with me and their Granny 3 or 4 times a year. My granddaughter is 14 and her brother 17.
And I’m increasingly torn over their visits. The last year or so, they say “Hi, Grandad, Granny!” as they arrive of a Friday evening. And seldom raise their eyes from their texting/social media until they say “Bye, Grandad, Granny!” of a Sunday afternoon. They might as well be 1000 miles away.
Neither can boil an egg, or make a piece of toast.
I can’t convince my son or his wife of my concerns over this.
Possibly because THEIR eyes rise so rarely from their phones…
Yeah, get kids off social media. Like they don’t inow how to handle it better than their parents, and their parents have any clue on how yo protect them.
Love this. Kids should not b on social media

ReplySome cyber bullies don’t grow up when they get older.
ReplyWaste of time. It already exist and they are so much tech smarter than their parents, they would find a way around it.
ReplyI support it. Social media is poison for children
ReplyWith parental consent watch is what it currently is.
ReplyThe threat to children and adults from social media is real but any sort of ban would be 100% unconstitutional.
