I think Conan gave us variants of “y’know it’s funny…” four times in this video. It’s his go to phrase which is almost never followed by anything funny 😆

Channel 4 took over the UK free tv rights from the BBC at the time s9 was on Sky. Thered be a 6-9 month gap between them being on sky to ch4
And we now know Conan sat next to Schwarzwelder

In episode BF12, you were battling barbarians while riding a winged Appaloosa. Yet in the very next scene, my dear, you’re clearly atop a winged Arabian! Please to explain it!

I’d just sit there and ask Conan questions about the Simpsons for literal hours lol. Homer Goes to College imo is not only the best Simpsons episode, but one of the funniest American animation episodes ever.

The smoking writer was probably John Swartzwelder—who I think still has the record for having written the most episodes of the show. Eventually they stopped tolerating his smoking, so he went to a diner and sat in the booth and smoked and wrote there. Then, when, they banned smoking in restaurants, he bought the booth from the diner, brought it into his home, and continued writing and smoking in the booth. Eventually he stopped going to the studio except for when his scripts were finished. Then he would just drive up in his car, hand them out the window, and drive home. He’s a legend in comedy, and was considered reclusive, though I know they called him on one of the commentaries and he actually answered his phone. He was cooking a steak, if I remember correctly.

Like with a lot of shows – lost 24 spring to mind wing with Simpson’s – bbc would buy the rights to show not knowing would be successful so paying small amount for it / but then if show was really popular sky would then outbid then for rights for the new seasons and why bbc was showing older series sky had all the new ones

I think it’s hilarious that Taylor Swift is dating a football player. I had a friend to an elementary school That was into football football and he got busted for grabbing some little girls butt. He must’ve figured all that cheering for violence and wrongdoing in football and the world with cheer for him for grabbing that girls butt More than they would cheer for him if he Single-handedly dismantled the deadliest gang of hitman in the history of Washington DC like my family did. No heralding see. What if Heaven was totally ironic and Taylor Swift spent all eternity with that loser, grabbing her butt because she cheered more for football than the heroes, who invented electricity and dismantle, the deadliest gangs of hitman in history

The universe made sure that Conan became the legend he was destined to become. It’s crazy he got the job to replace Letterman and it’s crazy that they gave him 3 years to prove himself. The odds were against him in such an insane way that you gotta think things happen for a reason in life. Conan should never have had a chance at super stardom yet everything went his way ti make it happen. And thank his for that! He is one of the best to donut if not THE best

It’s surprising to me that Conan, who is so passionate about music and generally has great taste, would want to book Ed Sheeran for this show. I would say that Sheeran’s a one-man kitsch factory, but even that isn’t quite true since he always has “producers” on his songwriting credits. A far cry from Jack White . . .
