Can we set up priorities for forgiveness? I feel like someone doing medicine deserves the forgiveness much more , considering those ridiculous costs. Congress should also look into capping tuition fees.

Quack. He talks loud & says nothing. He never argues his positions with real data.

I’m seeing a little bit of George Costanza, but more of his father. Bernies got a true heart of Gold, it seems these are not welcome in politics.

They need to change the terms on the student loans, interest should be fixed at a very low rate throughout the loan. Forgiving student debt is not going to help the students of the future. Change the way loans are written.

Ok, so what about all the people that actually paid off their student loans in full? Do they get reimbursed if those with current loans get forgiveness?

The reality is people can’t complain young people aren’t buying homes, marrying, and having kids because they are stuck with debt…brought about by how many good jobs require degrees.

If we want to tell them “too bad, pay your debt on your own”, then fine. Don’t complain then when the economy slows, you can’t sell your home (or you see your nice neighborhood of “working families” turn into a bunch of rentals), your business slows down, and worse…you can’t find workers because many just gave up.

I can only imagine what would happen if the youth simply decide to stop paying and let the system collapse. They say it if goes into default, it hurts your credit…but if they feel they will never be able to afford big things you would need a credit rating for, then they would simply just say “fuck it”.

Older people will retire or die, and you’re stuck with the youth…and if they gave up on life, then the country is screwed.

If employers stop demanding more than an associates degree to work a non specialized job then money wouldn’t be wasted on higher education.

Student dept forgiveness is basically taking money from those who made good decisions and giving it to gender studies majors.

Thank you, Bernie, for injecting facts into the student loan debate!!! Corporations get bailed out all the time w/our taxpayer dollars and we’re supposed to shut-up and be grateful! Trump passes tax cuts adding over a trillion s to the budget and benefited mostly the rich. The GOP is trying to hold the country hostage for the bills they ran up and we’re supposed to shut-up and be grateful. Biden, for once, tries to help the people who need it and gets dragged into The Supreme Court for his trouble. If anyone can tell me the airlines, AIG and the auto industry deserve a break more than 40 million Americans, who got in debt for an education, then something’s truly wrong w/you!!!!!

The elephant in the room. Both Sanders and Trump cared about the working class. Bernie admitted it when he said the Republicans care more than Democrats. FDR Democrats would detest the Democratic party today.

TBH, Now that when im thinking about it, since they are sending money to rainblow zelensky in the billions and spending it like its monopoly money, I say how can they have a good argument against giving money for Americans education! Im not for giving ANY of Our Tax Dollars as if its created out of thin air but they are spending it in the MOST irresponsible way possible so I think “SOME” Americans here in America “Not for all types of loans” deserve to have theirs paid off then!!! If you try arguing against it, you DONT really have a strong point seeing as how THIS INSANE DEMOCRAT RUN GOVERNMENT SPENDS OUR MONEY ANYWAYS!!!

Sure, the middle class kids AT COLLEGE are going to be more likely to waste the money. That said, this plan isn’t DESIGNED for them. It was DESIGNED for people who are out of school struggling to make it. It’s worth some people abusing the system if it means saving others.
