These kinds of fusion reactions won’t be powering anything on a commercial scale until we solve how to make tritium in large quantities (breeder reactors, or special fusion chamber jacket materials that can make tritium from deuterium).

ReplyEDIT: Was hoping that laser fusion would prove practical in my lifetime. I still remember my laser class on a field trip to Lawrence Livermore Labs in the late 70s to see their I. Process setup for laser fusion.

ReplyAny jail sentence that exacerbates 6months becomes prison time. So decades of Jail time is impossible. Child support cases is the only exception but if you went to prison while on child support. Apon your release you be sent back to jail until the child support is payed. So decades of Jail time is possible but not sentenced to decades of Jail time.

Well… that’s the most incomplete, misleading, and at one point even incorrect version of the fusion “breathrough” story I’ve heard today. But at least it tempers expectations at the end, so, a pat on the back for that. All considered, though, not bad. Fantastic show.
ReplyAs if cold fusion will go anywhere in a world controlled by the oil industry…kind of like believing in the Bible. We all have our fairy tale fantasies to help us make meaning of life in a world ruined by capitalism.
