Dr. Jane Goodall talks about her love of animals, dreaming of growing up to study wildlife, her mother’s encouragement, women not being scientists when she started out, bonding with one chimp in particular named David Greybeard, chimp “language,” the mourning and grief around a chimp when they die, being open to the idea that Bigfoot might exist, and her new Apple TV+ series “Jane” about the adventures of a little girl and her imaginary chimp.

She truly is an example of an OG. There aren’t too many people like her, who even though they get seriously discounted by others, say whatever I’m going to do me anyways, AND prove everyone wrong.
ReplyWhat a sweetheart
ReplyShe used to be hot back in the day.
ReplyWould love to see an interview between her and Attenborough
ReplyAlways so beautiful
ReplyJane Goodall’s story is why I hold out hope that Sasquatch could exist.
ReplyI simply love her. I grew up watching her in the news, seeing her documentaries and reading her books. Such a kindness that we do not see too often in this thing we call life anymore. I will always be in awe.
ReplyI admit to my ignorance in meeting our exec director, Bill Barnes’ cousin, George Schaller, when he came out to NY to spend time with Bill. One of our students was very deep into biology, so Bill asked George to spend some class time with her.
Was it Gorillas In The Mist where Jane was quoting Schaller?
I’m ashamed of being so close to ppl so significant, yet so ignorant as to their contributions.
Julie Harris was our Honorary director. She raised funds twice by performing Currer Belle and Driving Miss Daisy at our scale model auditorium of the Helen Hayes Theater.
Harvey Kurtzman would help his wife, Adele, raise funds in silent auctioning cartoon cells from all the well-known cartoonists.
Thank you, Jane.
