My Big Sister had an Elvis story. She was working as a receptionist at, I think Arista Records, & one day the phone rang & the man on the other end said, “Can I speak to your boss, this is Elvis Presley”? My Sis replied, “Yeah, right, & I’m Ava Gardner” & she hung up. (My Sis’ name was actually Ava & she was named after Ava Gardner.) About 15 min later, she had her head down, working on some stuff for her boss & someone placed a dozen roses on her desk. She looked up & a man, standing in front of her said, “I really am Elvis Presley. The next time I call, please believe me” & with that, he walked into her boss’ office. She thought for sure she was going to be fired but Presley didn’t get her in trouble.
