    In the winter in especially northern states you have to deal with shoveling, driving in the snow, and slipping while walking on ice. Also the sun belt overall has been growing at much faster rate than the northern states.

    You forgot about winter, freezing your Hiney off. Pulled multiple blankets on. Watching the gauge on the oil tank. Many of us Yanks head south in winter. Afraid we will croak freezing in our homes covered by that ton of blankets. Fatter in the spring. Like an old hibernating bear. Retirement will need a plan. Someplace warm.
