In this EXTENDED INTERVIEW, comedian John Mulaney thanks Stephen Colbert for the support and encouragement our host provided during an incredibly challenging time. The affection these two performers have for each other is evident as Mulaney tells Colbert what he learned about himself in recovery, how happy his life is now, and what he did to convince David Byrne to score his new comedy album, “Baby J.” #Colbert #JohnMulaney #BabyJ #StandUpComedy
John is a wonderful example of why we should never devalue people struggling with mental health issues. His willingness to be both candid and humorous about his issues lends a credibility to his words that border on art.
ReplyHe’s boy presentable now!😅
ReplyWhat a privilege to listen in on a conversation between these two engrossing human beings who shared their vulnerabilities not only with each other, but with the rest of us. How could we not love them more than we already did?
ReplyThis is why Colbert is the best.
ReplyI find it very difficult to watch Mulaney
ReplyConsider potential is always what comes next? Potential can never be your last success unless you die.
ReplyWe all rally to those who overcome struggles social or otherwise
Weirdest therapy session ever….
ReplyI would watch two hours of them sitting around a fire, drinking cocoa, and solving the world’s problems.
ReplyMEATY!
ReplyTBH, I thought Mulany was fake as fuck until he finally did his special Baby J. Now I love him. As a comedian myself, and as him as a human being. It takes a serious army of courage to be as raw and real as he was in that special. It’s too bad L.C.K. can’t find it in him to make a come back that strong. Hats and Bras off to you, John.
ReplyIs Mulaney still sprining Chapelle on his audience? That really made me sad; he was a big favorite of mine.
ReplyJeez what a superficial interview.
ReplyI’m glad he’s still doing well. Baby J was a really good special.
ReplyMan for All Seasons an excellent play and movie. Paul Scofield, Robert Shaw & John Hurt are amazing in the movie.
Replywas this therapy? lolz
ReplyAs a photographer, I LOVE that cover!

ReplyThat bothered me a lot – that if you really were a good person, you had to be selfless, anonymous … so if you took any satisfaction or pride in anything, it showed that your heart was in the wrong place. Or to take it to a really basic level – “If you were really nice you wouldn’t have to go around proclaiming how nice you are!”
Reply“I am very lucky; I have a very good life, and I don’t want to be the reason that that gets complicated.” 👏
ReplyJohn is looking handsome 😍
