Not “sadly” at all! I’m in my 20s and have yet to lose it bc I’d like to be in love. Why is it sad not losing it as a teenager? She said it instinctually and I think that’s what’s sad, that we as women and people are socialized to think having sex later in life is somehow embarrassing. It shouldn’t b the same for everyone. It’s a personal choice and experience. I’m personally glad and find it refreshing that Rebel divulged that to normalize it.
For the record, Elizabeth the 1st had lovers. She never married because she did not want to give up her autonomy or the kingdom. I consider her one of the first documented feminists.
I’m sure there are probably more that came before her. Eleanor of Aquitaine and Joan of Arc come to mind. I have no doubt there are others that are not documented at all.
