Is alien life real? Going out on a limb: Yes.

Why? The universe is pretty big man.

Have we been visited by aliens? Another limb: No.

Why? The universe is pretty big man.

in the expanse of the trillions of opportunities that the universe offers, there is probably life in a variety of forms – that said, there isn’t any in our little galaxy here except on earth and we should protect it

The question is pointless. The distances are so wast that they are insurmountable. We re alone. And so are aliens as well.

The fact that we haven’t seen it yet doesn’t mean life isn’t there. The James Webb isn’t for detecting life. These guys may be astronauts but are definitely not astronomers. Everyone wants to feel special, but we’re really not.

Gunkl, an Austrian satirist, once said that if you look at the size of the universe and how long it exists than the likeliness that we meet extraterrestrials in our lifetime is comparable to walking at the Southernmost foothills of the Hoggar Mountains on March 15th at 6:30 and by total coincidence bump into a guy named Fritz whose younger sister has a tailor shop.
BUT if he’s five minutes late or the shop is owned by his older you have the wrong guy.
Of course there’s a lot of guys named Fritz and many of them have a younger sister. And its possible that one or more of those sisters own a tailoring business. There’s no law forbidding such a person to travel to Northern Africa and during a desert excursion he might come by the Southernmost foothills of the Hoggar Mountains… But I wouldn’t wait for him.

Equally plausible: Alien lifeforms have been monitoring Earth for thousands of years, discreetly of course, and will continue to avoid revealing their existence until we grow up and learn to behave

Wasn’t there life in space confirmed? In form of bacteria though?

EVEN astronauts? To me, It’s MORE likely that astronauts would be inclined to be open minded about it. Life could be in many different forms.

Those revelations were shown to be lens and optical artifacts. Quit gaslighting people.

Not “even” is a strange phrasing. At least 100 billion stars in this galaxy, more planets than that, 200 billion galaxies just in the observable universe. There almost certainly has to be life beyond earth just in our own galaxy let alone universe.

Of course there is tons of life out there. Almost all of it will just be bacteria, amoeba or algae though.

    Intelligent life?

That is another question altogether, since there have to be so many prerequisites met for that to develop. Chances are that there are millions of planets out there with blooming biotopes that over billions of years never develop intelligent life because there is no reason to assume that it always has to develop.

Now intelligent life that actually is able to travel to us? That is extremely unlikely. It would have to develop somewhat close to us, exist long enough and there even has to be a physical way to travel FTL, which might actually be not possible, no matter how advanced a civilization gets.
