Inherently, people want all individuals to succeed… but not at the expense of people like them. ReplyEasy for a white millionaire who’s had no relative shot by police to say that race doesn’t matter. It’s not the only thing that matters, but unfortunately it is a thing used by powerful whites to maintain power. The Republicans wouldn’t have introduced 500 state bills limiting voting rights bills the last couple of years if they weren’t trying to maintain racist policies, and the Supreme Court majority wouldn’t have gutted the Voting Rights Act if they weren’t white racists or a bought eccentric like Thomas.
