The Intercept’s Murtaza Hussain and Yair Rosenberg of The Atlantic discuss with Jon Stewart how peace may be possible between Israel and Palestine, the United States’ involvement in the Middle East, and how the two journalists can have honest conversations even when they disagree. #DailyShow #JonStewart #MiddleEast
Jon, you have been missed.
Reply02:00 a blatant lie that Israel has never responded or engaged in talks of a two state solution.. so how much else of what he speak is a lie aswell🤔
ReplyIf you don’t mention the illegality of the 75 year occupation, are you really having an honest conversation? Also not mentioned: apartheid, blockade, international law, Gaza Marine gas field, hostages in Israeli jails, armed settlers stealing land, home demolitions, areas A B and C, bantustans, Jew-only roads, curfews in Hebron, checkpoints, Gaza diet, soldiers vs. children. “Stop the violence” is Sesame Street level of discourse. I just watched Ireland’s representative speak at the ICJ for 30 minutes, and this milquetoast conversation is for NY liberals who think they know what’s going on because they watch the biased edited news.
Replyone of the best thing you can do to help gazans as an individual in the united states is see who gets funding and support from aipac and give money and support to the people running against those candidates.
Replythe religian is the problem….RELIGIAN
ReplyIt’s a huge shame that this conversation probably wouldn’t reach those who need to hear it the most. This is journalism in its truest form.
ReplyAfter WW2 Britain stoped Jewish people fleeing to Israel from Europe America said stop that. and Britain said you know how this rejion works OK you do it. US and UK copertate all the time Yemen right now freedom of navigation . Isreal no you wanted it.
Reply‘Winken’ (Biden), ‘Blynken’ (Blinken) & ‘Nod’ (Rishi Sunak).
ReplyIt’s sad that we need to look for incentives in order for a fellow human to help another human who is suffering. Sadder to know that I might be one of them.
ReplyAre you, Jon Stewart, blaming Netanyahu for 10/7?

It’s ironic that a comedian, the ONLy adult in the room, is able to bring an Arab and Jew to sit down and talk about this never ending conflict.
Arabs and Jews, please end this madness.
ReplyAfter 20 minutes, I’m only left with one question: “What in the world is going on with Murtaza’s hair!?”
ReplyJon, please continue backing off while your best chosen guests can make sense to all of us, what IS happening and what YOU want us to know….that we may not have the ability to get CLEAR information anywhere else. AGain, you are Great, yet please do not do a Level 401 debate, with confusing Satire and Sarcasm interrupting your Guests………let US learn FROM them….and THEN in a year or so, be Able to know what the heck IS going on out there……..vs simultaneously differentiate from your comedic and/or serious satirical comments. WE NEED TO GET YOUR INTENTION, not added CONFUSION and not sense of Solution oriented action to take………..
ReplyJon Stewart doesn’t realize that putting Arab nations in security of Israel while they are not secular liberal democracies and while they have anti semitic populations (I’m from there, I know) is going to be blood bath of Israelis and Holocaust against Jews again. You need to come to atheist republic and debate us for some serious arguments. Jon your take is off.
ReplyStill nothing solved, this conflict will never be solved until one side has gone. As long as Israel exists and Iran keeps funding Hamas, this ain’t going nowhere.
ReplyEnough educated opportunistic riding the suffering of the entire population on both sides of the conflict when WE ALL know it is not about politics or two-state solutions. The two-state solution, yes. For how long before we redo the crime from both sides? Population growth is off-balanced by the limited land, water, and food supply, not enough in the short run, even for one state. What happened with Palestinians in Gaza and within the Israeli border was predictable (cause and effect). The only solution is the old Moroccan way of managing the KASBA system. What is KASBA ? Then ask the Israeli Moroccan national in Israel and worldwide. It is not the Google definition or even what is understood by normal Moroccan citizens. The meaning lost its sense since the invention of dynamite (by Noble) and it is really the only solution.
ReplyExcept for the beards, these two actually look alike. Excellent interview Jon, all kidding aside
ReplyWhy not bring on a Palestinian academic Rashid Khalidi?
ReplyDisappointed by Stewart with this one. Are you kidding me? Cutting US funding and military equipment would be a practical stop to the bombing of innocent people. You cant said it wont have an effect.
ReplySo blaming everything on Bibi and not acknowledging that palestinians refused already 13 times to a 2 state solution. Why do you think the issue is the border security instead the fact that palestinians (in their own words) rather have Israel disappear than having their own state.
