There totally was a magazine called Bop. There was also one called Sassy, which the SNL of Conan’s era parodied with Phil Hartman playing the publisher.
ReplyI learned what improv was from discovering whos line as a teen. Then in 2019 I gave actual improv a chance. Now I’ve been doing it 5 years incoming all thanks you conan. Since you were a inspiration. it helped me get out of my shyness shell growing up. Also love listening to the podcast.

Replyabrupt ending, can do better
ReplyI went to a Music, Arts, & Theater camp in a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio in the late 1960s. I was already making art,…and had attended other programs, during the school year, after going to my daytime school classes. It was a great camp for kids not into sports. I could have sampled the acting classes, but instead I focused on Arts & Crafts. We were provided top notch instruction, and access to more sophisticated arts materials. We did hot glass enamel, hammered copper & aluminum, clay slab building,…wood working, linoleum cut & wood cut printing. We visited museums, and practiced various drawing techniques. My friends who were already learning to play orchestral instruments, got more experience. I knew a few kids who were getting theatrical experience, and the whole class put on a play, for the rest of the kids. It was a blended age camp,….kids were in the 7th, 8th & 9th grades. I wish I had been encouraged to take the acting classes.
ReplyBeautiful.
Replyis there a reason you have ads in here? dont you get paid up front for the audio podcast?
ReplyNow I want Jennifer Garner on the podcast so they can talk about the epic “Sneak vs. Snuck” takedown from Late Night.

ReplyKristen wig got an insane amount of plastic surgery. If you told me this was her without giving her name I wouldn’t even recognize her
ReplyI had a dream that I was a new featured player on SNL and Kristen and I decided to dress up for this castmember Thanksgiving dinner Lorne was throwing: I went as a turkey, and she went as an ambrosia salad.

ReplyWhy do women do the lips? Not natural.
ReplyDid you know Kristen Wiig is a Certified Piano Tuner? She was one semester away from earning her bachelor degree in Applied Piano Performance from the Eastman School of Music when she quit and moved to L.A. to pursue a career in comedy. One of her odd jobs was tuning pianos (which in the 90s paid about $50 per piano).
