ReplyNot my joke, but I want to share it here: Titanic is a comedy in that we spend 2 hours hoping Jack survives when the beginning of the film clearly reveals that he didn’t since Rose’s last name isn’t Dawson.
ReplyIt has been 26 years. Can people just get over the they-could-both-fit-on-the-door conversation? Jack had to die. He would have been a terrible husband, so the most romantic ending is his physical death, but emotional immortality. Romeo and Juliet, Ennis and Jack, Cathy and Heathcliff, Maria and Tony…somebody has to die.
