I mostly like Kara but her ego is as large as the people she covers, and that’s a problem for a journalist.
ReplyBro how did Bill Maher not pass out from inhaling Elon Musk’s farts during this whole segment? It was so embarrassing he didn’t even want to post the full segment LMAO. Elon’s legacy will be he will be remembered as the apartheid emerald-mine heir who inherited power and money from his parents, became a union-busting, anti-labor corporate overlord, and who was willing to spend 50 billion dollars to turn Twitter into a right wing propaganda outlet like Facebook already was. That’s his actual legacy and you’re delusional if you think the history books are going to leave all of that out simply because he took a lot of subsidies from the government and did some car and space stuff with the free money. The workers at his factories who perform all of the actual labor that allowed him to turn his apartheid heir money into his large worth work more in a single day than this man has literally ever worked in his entire adult life. They are the brains and labor behind the operation. Musk a greedy hypocrite of the highest order who simultaneously believes in trickle-down economics and is scared shitless of ‘socialism’ (a word literally none of these guys have ever defined) while also taking billions of dollars in subsidies and delivering us cars that explode and catch on fire every 34 seconds. Wow! Holy shit what a legend! 🤣This is unironically “MAGA” levels of delusion from Bill Maher who (accurately) sees that Trump and his supporters are in a cult, but somehow can’t make the connection here. At least Kara Swisher pushed back mildly on *some* of the incorrect stuff he said, but she really didn’t.
Elon Musk has repeatedly sued outlets for reporting on his poor labor practices his entire time in business. The idea this guy is a ‘savior’ of the first amendment (that doesn’t even have anything to do with Twitter, mind you) is truly something that only insanely out of touch, wealthy people in 5,000$ suits from Brooks Brothers believe. Ask the hundreds of journalists that have been either sued or completely banned from Twitter for (accurately and without violating TOS) reporting on Musk’s shenanigans the last year or so. It’s pure delusion. There is, objectively and without a doubt, less ‘free speech’ on Twitter now than there was four or five years ago. He couldn’t even handle a softball interview with Don Lemon, a tepid journalist, because of how much of a pussy Elon is and how afraid he is of the ‘free speech’ he pretends to care about while simultaneously singlehandedly doing more to curb free speech than anyone has the last two years. You have overdosed on his farts. The ‘anti-establishment, I am fighting THE MAN’ Bill Maher from the early 2000s would hate himself and laugh at how embarrassing it was if he saw this segment in 2024. Bill has truly drank the kool-aid.

ReplyNo Bill. Trump doubled the Square Footage of his apartment to get a loan at a better rate. Of course the bank could never check that. He did this at the time when banks had people on the streets trying to get you to have a mortgage/credit card and told you to tell them how much you earned and they would never ask. I was on holiday at a seaside resort and was harassed by bank staff on the street, begging me as I passing them to take out a mortgage I could not afford. Trump’s loan was repaid, the bank was happy. This is a crime without a victim. It is lawfare/persecution and the general public gets it.

Pretty much everyone else has descended into neo liberal, über woke madness and has become a representative of an extremist bastadarsation of Progressivism. Neo Progressives, I refer to them as…although Regressives would be the more accurate term.
These are people who are doing more damage to society and their own purported values than any Donalds or Trumps ever could. And the irony is completely lost on them..Don’t get me wrong. The Trump cult is a disease of the mind just as much as the woke cult. But at least most people recognise it as such. There is no pretence among the thinking people. Meanwhile the neo progressive cult hides in plain sight, under the guise of acceptance, equality and inclusion…oppression with a smile. A wolf in sheep’s clothing. That’s what makes it more dangerous. The fact that it wears this Machiavellian mask and fools people into believing that they are actually being righteous and stalwart while in reality just being overly sensitive, narcissistic bullies.
