Though it happened at least 17 years ago, “Last Week Tonight” host John Oliver looks back fondly on the first time he saw a pedestrian curse out a cab driver. Season 11 of “Last Week Tonight” premieres this Sunday on HBO.

I almost didn’t recognize Oliver when he wasn’t just dropping the F-word every 20 seconds in lieu of actually saying anything funny.

Was in New York a few months ago and was walking with my fiancé and this car almost hit a guy and the guy says “I’m walkin here ya fa***t” and we were genuinely giddy with excitement cuz we knew that was our first real New York moment

You can’t fault John Oliver for his remorseless hazing, he is a man with a laser-sharp eye for situational comedy and a deep professional understanding of Stephen’s predicament, so this is probably exactly why they invited him to the show that night. They way Stephen just let John bulldozer over himself, and even playing into it a little, shows that it’s all coming from a place of empathy, love and respect for each other. Brothers in arms!

Just gotta love John Oliver’s habit of throwing other talk show hosts under the bus 😂

Psshh The NFL’s a cartel, too. Nobody knows that because who the hell just decides to assemble a team!? *Oh! not a “DRUG” one obviously!*

That was one of the greatest late night talk show interviews of all time!

I’ve watch all the interview in the correct order. Am I correct in saying if I was watching on US television we just watch a 16 minute interview split by two adverts… with one, under 3.30 minute, segment bookended by commercials? How long are they? this would be insufferable to watch for a uk audience. We have a max number of breaks and duration. I hope this isn’t a sign of things to come for us.
