The professor is missing something; people were at war in the 1970’s and before. Black people were never given a chance to be “all american”

I get it, but we can’t forget that black people are not “naturally” this way. Bullies are not born; they are made. The behavior of black folk is a byproduct of the system. Because of this, I wouldn’t write this book. It pits the blame on black folk when they are byproduct not the root of the problem.

What I’ve always found weird about Finding Your Roots is that I’ve always known about my family going back to the Revolution and why most Americans don’t know their ancestry?

I have this book and it is great! I’m only in chapter 2 at the moment but I think everyone should get this book plus 1 of his others called Stony the Road. My future career goals is a dual doctorate degree in Anthropology and African American History. There’s so much history to learn that tells us about our present that explains everything. “History is the study of change” Yuval Noah Harari, it’s so important! Great interview!
