ReplyCommenting again and will keep commenting so long as it keeps getting deleted – Why do Asians behave so repressed whenever in America /around Americans? Michelle Yeoh seems to have lost her original classy, strong and subtle self quite a bit after becoming part of Hollywood to the extent she is now. Rhetorical question of course . Asians who have been around American culture a lot, speaking mainly about Asian Americans, are so repressed because of the lack of substantive and critical thinking that American culture is about. Example – American perspective = Louder you are , better you are. The more you socialise and the bigger your social group, the higher up you are on the perceived american ladder of “success”. The very linear american definition of a “winner”. This is why i cringe at watching Asians coming onto american shows generally, not all but most. Its more noteworthy to watch them on shows of other countries or cultures , including their own, where they can retain their original independent,critical thinking selves and remain classy without having to behave like clowns for the stupidity that is american culture. Yikes
