The real story is actually quite wild. he wound up raising over 3 million dollars and pledged it to a children’s hospital in his hometown. a local reporter did a deep dive on Carson’s Twitter and located some racist tweets which Carson apologized for. The local reporter also had racist tweets in his past and was fired from his job. Anheuser-Busch had agreed to work with Carson, but then rescinded when the racist tweets came out. they did still donate several hundred thousand to the children’s hospital. but then local oktoberfests boycotted Anheuser-Busch products in response to them cutting ties with Carson. The whole thing is insane!
