Jon Stewart tackles the years-long battle between pro-life and pro-choice in America from the Catholic Church’s vocal opposition to birth control, pro-lifers hunting for pro-choice doctors, and a sit down with Mike Huckabee where he weighs in on what women should do with their bodies. #DailyShow #JonStewart #reproductiverights
Isn’t it early in the season for a clip-show? 🤔
ReplyIf all life is equal and no1 takes precedence over anyone else, i.e. the mom doesnt own the child and cant make that decision to abort it, then why can’t pregnant women start claiming child support, or tax credits and extra welfare? Since the fetus is already being considered a person for the sake of their messed up arguments. Why don’t we automatically assign them a SSN and start adding them to our households 🤔? No? Guess that doesnt work for their purpose.
ReplyBowtie Mo Rocca was sooo cute. Now i feel old
ReplyOh man seeing that webpage from back then……
ReplyMike Huckabee thinks every human life has value until the second they’re born. Then you’re on your own babe.
ReplyThrough what years?
ReplyChristo-fascists will not stop at basic rights, they want full fascism.
ReplyWhen people argue against abortion rights to me, I reply that I do not recognize anyone’s authority to demand a woman must carry her unborn child to term.
ReplyIf people quit preaching and start minding their own business, we all would get along a lot better.
ReplyWhatever will republicans do when their secret mistresses get pregnant?
ReplyThanks Mike Huckabee for not @borting that id!ot daughter yours.
ReplyHaving grown up in and around the rural anti abortion crowds of the Southern United States, what hardly gets mentioned is their real motivations. They truly believe because of what they have been taught from childhood by elders and Churches, is that ending abortion will get them into Heaven. They don’t care about life at all, they just want to assure their own salvation. They are dogmatic zealots.
ReplyI’d love to see Jon Stewart and Tucker Carlson in one room together.
ReplyI am listening to that Sanders guy talk and it’s revolted and I see Republicans have always just been filth and liars. ..ya know. I think it’s time we ask ourselves if we need these people anymore. Do we have to tolerate them anymore? They don’t want to tolerate us….
Replythey need to stop calling it pro life and pro choice, neither of these accurately reflects either reality or the problem at hand.
they should be calling it pro coathanger and anti coathanger. they’re the only names that make sense
ReplyBrillant! And spot on!!
ReplyVote blue, people!! Best wishes from abroad in Europe/Switzerland!! Thank you!! 💙💙
Huckabee saying the government doesn’t have the right to own people then quoting the founding fathers who literally owned people is a strong line of argument. /s
ReplyFor as long as we’ve been listening to this debate, the pro-birther argument has never once made an ounce of sense.
ReplyFor me it’s helping ensure we give people as much as we can, in this order – protection of life, protection from physical harm, protection from emotional distress. We try and get all three, but if it’s a choice between protecting someones life or emotions, we proritise saving their life. For me an embryo becomes a person when the brain kicks in, which is about 6 weeks – if something can think and feel it is a life. Before that, there is no life, so a mothers safety and emotions win out. After that if the mother’s life is at risk, that can override the child’s life. Safety is a grey area – depending on the risk of harm and is a discussion for mother and doctor. But once the life is there, the mothers emotional, financial concerns etc do not outweight the right of the child to life.
Replycan we talk about Mike Huckabee statement, “i have a photo of little girl in my pocket that i met in….”
Can you imagine someone who is not family keep your daughter’s photo in their pocket?
