Darling girl, just perfect. But it kind of feels weird to see a real person embody Cassie, she’s 13, she’s likely IN IT now. Bless her, there’s no way to understand that book’s full importance and the role Judy Blume has played in raising about 40 years of girls. She won’t realize til she’s older. And I’d hate to ask her about the book’s major themes, she must be experiencing some of them right now. At least she’s a bit uncomfortably precocious – she needs the boundary it creates.
