The cheering crowd should be careful what they wish for… the next Speaker
will probably be more Cruz-like (and more willing to pursue things like
Gov. shutdowns and debt ceiling hostage tactics).

Boehner got sick of commuting between the White House and the Chocolate
factory… All that missed tanning time!

Be careful what you wish for, you could get it. And as anything from the
GOP/TBagger Party it could be an even bigger nightmare.

Someone left Boehner out in the sun too long.

Interesting. Sounds like Boehner realized just how “un-Catholic” his
Republican party has been and decided it was time to step down. Props to

It is almost sad… I don’t either side is sorry to see him go. I just hope
his replacement is not as much of an obstructionist – but who knows, they
    might be worse.

It says a whole lot about the insane state of the GOP if John Boehner is
too fucking moderate for the rest of the party.

Their holy almighty Ronald Reagan would be a candidate for burning at the
    stake by this current metric.

The fuck is wrong with these people?

As much as I disagree with Boehner I would be more worried on the guy
    replacing him

    Dear politicians,
If we could stop worrying about government shutdowns for at least another
five to ten years that would be great. Thanks.

So happy to know people fall asleep with the word “Stephen” on their lips
and a giggle in their sleep. I on the other hand will start my morning’s
right here. Oh! Thanks alot Mr. Ex-Speaker for ruining Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Da …

So when your republicans friends tell you that it is the democrats causing
the government to do nothing, respond with the TEA BAGGERS are at odd with
your own party. Republican infighting is the reason for a doing nothing
congress and they doing it on purpose.

Republicans are always trying to shut down the damn government

The audience should only be clapping if they’re hardcore conservatives. No
one else is really overjoyed by Boehner’s resignation than the far right.

i’m pretty sure Speaker of the House is 3rd in line for the Presidency….

    Boehner went limp

Boehner should have entered the press conference wearing a red sweater and
singing “it’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood.”
