We’re honored to host the one and only Bono for this unique presentation of U2’s classic song, “With or Without You,” complete with spoken-word verses from Bono’s new memoir, “Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story.” #Colbert #Surrender #Bono #U2 #WithorWithoutYou
That was…deeply moving. I sit here, watching my marriage of 26 years melting into the ground as my still adored husband has left me, thinking how this song can still move me so very deeply and answer the cry in my heart. Thank you, she says quietly. You have validated my tears and given me a bit of the magic of music back, even through the agonizing pain of watching my love walk away from me.
ReplyRollinsesque…
ReplySo intimate. So personal. And being drawn into his song, so heart-wrenching for the listener. Wonderful performance and wonderful experience.
ReplyIncredibly beautiful and moving, a version that expresses all the love for his wife
ReplyRemarkable. Thank you Paul.
ReplyThat iconic voice tearing through the theatre gives me goosebumps.
ReplyA bit on the nose.
ReplyAmazing. Just amazing.
ReplyAbsolute magic. Thank you.
ReplyAside from The Beatles, U2’s music gets to my core and rattles it! Thanks boys for making great music.
ReplyStill got it.
ReplyOk Bono, after more than 40 years, I finally get it. Better late than never …

ReplyIn 1988, “The Joshua tree” was always with me in a college dorm.
ReplyAt that time I came far from Japan and got really healed by his voice.
So nostalgic!!
Awesome!! Feel lucky to have seen U2 live 4 times. First time during the Joshua Tree Tour in Buffalo. Bono was wearing a sling since he broke his arm a few weeks before the concert. But he still sang great, and the band put on an amazing performance. I was impressed to see Bono perform obviously with pain and discomfort. Last time I saw them live was in Cleveland during their last tour when they featured the Josha Tree album. What a great show it was!!! Love the song he is singing here. One Tree Hill is probably my fav. U2 song. Bad, the studio version and at the Live Aid show is another. There is something so pure and otherworldly about The Joshua Tree album. U2 has put out excellent albums over the years and continue to do so.
