ReplyI almost walked out on my job for some of those very reasons. I work in a hotel.
ReplyNOW they are seeing how valuable service jobs are. Its the service jobs that give us the quality of life we all have. Without the people flipping your burgers… YOU have to flip it YOURSELF. People got NO RESPECT for doing these jobs. Now that they arent doing them…. they see now how much they shouldve been honoring people who did them. and REWARDING THEM. So now I guess we do it the HARD way. Serves em right.

I’m surprised you didn’t mention healthcare workers. It’s not a pay issue, but the nursing shortage is real. I just left a bedside position I’d held for 18+ years. Exhausted, burned out and realized I have to choose my own health now.
