To be fair on the $ 14 billion, per American that translates to about 50 dollar. Which sounds like a fair price if you want to inform citizen for a pretty important choice: not just the President for the next four years, but Senators for six years, Representatives for two years, state houses, judges, sheriff and don’t forget the all-important dogcatcher election (Duxbury, Vermont holds an annual election for the post!).

The real problem is that so much of the money is spent on misleading voters, instead of seeking to inform them and help them develop their skills as involved citizens, so that they can make an informed decision and be a part of the process.

Thank you Trevor and Roy, tell them to look at themselves and not us. All these white people, other minorities, and marginalized groups think they know what black people value but they don’t. Y’all think we are just content with police reform? Thinking we don’t deserve any greater re-compensation for the wrongs committed on us by the government and the majority alike all throughout the Jim crow and black code era, from Red Lining, to the destruction of multiple “Black Wall Streets” etc? We were already born bearing the fear of this kind of activity from the police since we first consciously became self-aware as toddlers. In the sociology classes y’all harp on the wrongs committed specifically on us, but elect to implement one size fits all solutions; we don’t think the same you see.Y’all don’t align with us on majority of our viewpoints, so why now use our plight and struggle and tie it up with the stuff that concerns you? Y’all aren’t from where a lot of us are from in the cities and towns and schools, and don’t live the same experiences we lived. Political Vultures, are on both sides. The only black people that many cite for reference is either an entertainer or that one woman or guy in their professional workplace. Don’t worry about who i’m voting for, mind yo business. #ProtectBlackWomen #IOnlyFearGod

I like how they threw in some thoughtful insights with the humor! My brother-in-law is black and was very frustrated when a lot of his black male friends chose not to vote in 2016.

I was looking for real answers not all comedy. I’m so confused as to why any black person especially black men would vote for Trump. It’s clear to me that he feels Superior yet threatened and intimidated by black men the most. Look at how he goes after Obama. Trust he has no respect.

14 billion is not a lot of money when you drop in context with things like healthcare… that’s only 40 dollars a person or so…

I’m not a US citizen but I follow your politics closely. I always knew that electoral turnout was low (relative to other advanced nations) but until this year I did not know that active voter suppression was so rampant.
