ReplyThank you for this. A long time friend of mine had an intersex surgery when a child, forced om her by a mother who was appalled that her daughter was not perfect. She suffered with the side effects all of her life. This needs to end.
ReplyI love and support all intersex people, who deserve the same rights as the rest of us, but I will *NEVER* accept fans of 98 Degrees. I’m sorry, but it’s just the way I was raised. Specifically, I was raised on Backstreet Boys cassettes.

ReplyAs an interesting tidbit, doctors and scientists tend to be very different species. Doctors are are very kinda focused on “fixing things”, but are kinda like blue collar workers who don’t delve deep into the philosophy and “metaphysics” of issues. As a true biologist it deeply saddens me that they would force a uneccesary surgery on a kid before understanding who they are as a person… that’s at best a violation of the Hypocritical oath, and at worst a degradation of humankind as a species.
