Thank god we made giving birth mandatory. We can replace water with blood.
ReplyExperts have already seen what draining an aquifer looks like. Mexico City (population 22 million) has permanently ruined their aquifer. Once an aquifer dries up, it will not retain any new water. The City is sinking 22 inches each year. Hard to believe AZ is doing the same thing. I did a paper on this in school in the early 90s.
ReplyIt rains in Florida almost every afternoon this time if year.
ReplyPeople dont care enough. They rather accept a future of deserts because then they wont have to change their lifestyles today.
ReplyHi from the Netherlands! Even in our country, which has a history of many floods, we have had water shortages in the last few years. Climate change is happening alarmingly quickly also here.
ReplyI wonder if there’s a connection between “people that think we have an infinite supply of water, so let’s do whatever we want,” and “people who think God flooded the whole planet once”?
ReplyGreat presentation as always, sir. Weird how millenia later, human kind hasn’t figured out how to tap the great resource that is 75% of earth covered in water. Greetings from Nairobi.
ReplyArce-feet has to be one of the dumbest imperial units I’ve ever seen… (for those wondering just like me, it’s 660x66x1ft in volume, or 1233.5 cubic meters in the rest of the world. Or 1233.5 liters, because metric)
ReplySaudi Arabia actually has huge farms in Arizona growing wheat, water thirsty, wheat, because Saudi Arabia uses a lot of flour and they don’t want to use up their own water tables
ReplyHere’s a Novel idea… Stop living there! There is plenty water to be had in most of the country still. I hate to see California politicians discuss this issue. Science has already answered the question.
ReplyThe Great Salt Lake is actually drying up. It’s barely even there anymore, and it’s going to release toxic gas and dust on the valley!!!
For a place with some of the worst air quality in the world, I can’t wait!
But don’t worry, that are building developments over our marsh area and are trying to build a new ski resort in an area that would need to produce a lot of artificial snow.
I’m tired
ReplyMe, usually, after listening to a John Oliver show: Damn, we must do something about that.
ReplyMe, this week, after all that is happening in the US: Shhh John, let that nation drown. Probably for the best!
Not listening to science causes the US to become a 3rd world country, quite sad frankly.
ReplyGod, his suit is a bit too tight.
ReplyMaybe lay off the cheese burgers, big guy?
It’s just horrifying. We are allowing the worst people to deliberately destroy our world.
ReplyI’d really love to see a live John Oliver cam should they ever discover a body in the Mojave river.
