He delivers a riveting portrayal of George Jones in the upcoming Showtime limited series, “George & Tammy,” but actor Michael Shannon didn’t know any of the country icon’s music before signing on to the project. Stick around for more with Michael and check him out in “George & Tammy,” premiering on December 4th on Showtime. #Colbert #GeorgeandTammy #MichaelShannon
Take Shelter was awesome.
Replyhe does every kind of character.
ReplyWell, Taylor Swift is also a bit jazz, right?… Right?… Hmmmm. #forgetthis
ReplyI loved him so much in Boardwalk Empire, whether it was deliberate or not, I found him very believable to have come from Dutch parentage and being incredibly awkward in expressing himself in the English language. That near autistic dryness was fantastic.
Al Capone, in threatening demeanour clearly out to kill van Alden: “Are you succesful?” Van Alden “No.” Capone “Why?” van Alden “I get the feeling my boss doesn’t like me.”
Reply“Oh, I’d ‘kneel to Zod’…”
-My wife, just now, not realizing that was out loud.
ReplyBest Michael Shannon film is the 1997 film “The Ride”. Roger Ebert called it “Ingenious. If Quentin Tarantino made a Cheech and Chong movie.” Shannon plays a parking lot attendant who gets high with his two friends and they steal a car. Hijinks ensue. Should of won an Oscar.
Reply“I’m more of a jazz man but… free tickets?”
How could that possibly fail?
ReplyBoardwalk Empire: spooky great performances
ReplyHe’s brilliant in everything. Just watched him in the Nine Strangers shows where he’s on magic mushrooms in Nicole Kidman’s character’s wellness resort. He sings in the show too and he’s an amazing singer.
ReplyThat’s a handsome guy right there.
ReplyGreat actor. Such presence in every scene. When he made ‘The Iceman’ I became a fan.
ReplyThe coolest dude ever.
ReplyGenius and humble
ReplyLoved Michael Shannon in “NINE PERFECT STRANGERS” because I LOVED “NINE PERFECT STRANGERS” :DDD
ReplyMichael Shannon has the range to play everything from General Zod to George Jones – and everything in between.
ReplyNelson Van Alden in Boardwalk Empire.
ReplyWhat an amazing performance.
