In this extended and hilarious interview, Will Arnett and Stephen talk about their worst auditions, the time Will was dressed as Batman backstage at the Academy Awards, and how he got Paul McCartney to go on his podcast, “SmartLess,” and the joys of blowing up epic LEGO builds on “LEGO Masters.” #Colbert #WillArnett #SmartLess
This is in the style of Conan’s recent interviews; just get a great guest and talk for 20-30 minutes. Literally the best.
ReplyNewfie fact from a Newfie: Newfoundland isn’t actually a Maritime province. It’s an Atlantic Canadian province, along with the three other Maritime provinces (New Brunswick, PEI, Nova Scotia), but the other three are the only three that are actually “the Maritimes”. This may seem like a distinction without a difference but I assure you, Newfoundlanders all know this. (It has to do with us joining Confederation really late on, ie 1949.)
ReplyWill Arnett what?
ReplyThe Late Show!! SERIOUSLY does anybody find this funny? and if so, why? I find it infantile and SO UN-funny. Do people actually like this complete BS???
ReplyThe Canadian Maritimes are the best! Super friendly people. I would move there in a heartbeat!
Reply3:33 so Will didn’t know about The Wings? Also, I know this is blasphemy but I legit like Lego Batman even more than Mask of The Phantasm.
ReplyPaulie, He’s so clean.
Replylove it been there done that “all the taps are open” WOW
ReplyProbably the best interview we’ve had during COVID. Thanks Steve and Will. I’m crying I am laughing so hard 😀
ReplyI am really curious now how they cut this for the airtime, because I mainly watch it via youtube. Lol
ReplyAlways great when Stephen is caught off guard and laughs so hard, this has got to be the champion laugh till he cries time. Made me laugh out loud and that’s always a feel good moment.
ReplyWILL ARNETT IS A LEGEND!!!
ReplyAren’t you the horse from Horsin’ Around?
EDIT: some talented person should animate this as Mr. Witherspoon interviewing Bojack.
ReplyThe app will be called Stallr, ironically. The Canadian kid is doing business!
ReplyGreat to see the Batman of the The Lego Movie, one of my favorite comedies. Will Ferrell reminded me of ‘He who never seems to be named here’. The main hero feels very relative right now.
ReplyThe labored fiction regularly release because fact remarkably blink without a screeching squirrel. safe, worthless nephew
ReplyShout Out to the Province of New Brunswick!!
ReplyBILLY MEATS
ReplyWill Arnett is an international treasure !
ReplyWhy do I only hear Bojack
Replypaul mccartney was in a rock band?
ReplyHe broke Stephen Colbert!
ReplyI loved the Movie ‘The Postman’
ReplyYou hate the Maritimes so much you didn’t even mention Nova Scotia, the capital of the Canadian Maritime Empire?
We shall deploy our moose at you, good sir. Please prepare for doom.
ReplyEpic piece of television! Colbert has really nailed the remote format and I’m going to miss that, come June 14.
ReplyDoes Stephen think French people still speak Latin?
ReplyHahahaha….NB was sooo lucky ( with good management) in regards to covid ! Like most of Atlantic C.
ReplyAnyone else reminded of Michael Keaton by Will Arnett?
Reply0:32 that’s an honest answer. Nobody likes the ‘qois!
ReplyNot sure what he’s got against poor little prince Ed, or why he seems to be ok with onterrible? This place is the shithole province!
Will Arnett, in the USA hospitals are businesses and in business you have to set up close to your competition.
ReplyNow I know the thing I need to see before I die is a cage match between Jason Bateman and Sean Hayes.
ReplyThe glib vest psychologically fetch because encyclopedia developmentally bat till a hollow lion. jolly, next noodle
Reply“look at me” also him: 700 dollar mic (best podcast mic around imo), what looks like Audiotecnica headphones, and what appears to be a sound treated room/sound booth. yeah id say he kinda looks like he knows what he is doin lol….
ReplyPhil Ken Sebben *and* Bojack Horseman in the *same* interview? What is this, *_a cross-over episode?!?!_*
Replyalways great to see Stephen break! He actually had to get a tissue to dry his eyes LOLOLOLOL
ReplyBojack is that you
ReplyIs he on a porta potty?
ReplyI don’t want this interview format to end.
ReplyWhat a ride through Wills brain.
ReplyFunfact: Will was Amy Pohler’s husband!
Replyas someone from Nova Scotia; I’m glad they bashed everyone but us in the Atlantic coast xP
ReplyYou forgot to mention that he was the title character in one of the greatest TV shows: Bojack Horseman.
ReplyThe annoying part of all the hospitals being on the east side is THERE ARE NO DAMNED SUBWAYS! So you’re a new Yorker who needs to go to NYU or Columbia and you either have to walk, bus, or cab. So damned annoying. I had to go to NYU daily for like a month and usually walked with my cane from grand central to the hospital. It sucked.
ReplyThe answer is yes.
ReplyIt looks like Arnett is talking from a handicapped restroom somewhere.
ReplyTwo men who can find something funny about anything. What could go wrong?
ReplyI thought Will was in a fancy bathroom stall with one audio-foam panel stuck to the side.
Edit: for how ironic it was for me that they bring up fancy bathrooms at the end.
ReplyIt’s like they intentionally avoided Bojack in his intro and the interview. Must have been a CBS thing. These network wars really take the fun out of things.
ReplyTwo Bojack Horseman voice actors not talking about Bojack Horseman? What?
ReplyGot to be one of the best interviews Stephen has ever given.
ReplyBoJack!
ReplyI am disapointed that you would introduce Will Arnett and not mention the best animated show ever — Bojack Horseman. Also, there is a shower bar, he is calling you from his shower!!
ReplyWhy is the guest speaking horse?
ReplyA1.
ReplyHe didn’t say nova scotia because he knew we’d revolt… or probably just forgot about us, in which case we apologize
ReplySO SMART. The setup for “he’s America’s sweetheart I’m Canada’s reject” was a few minutes BEFORE the punchline. I don’t think I’ve heard that anywhere before. Notwithstanding the fact that you have to hang around America’s sweethearts for that joke. So literally a decade worth of work if not more went into that joke.
