ReplyJapan has NOT tried everything to raise birthrates. Not only is the economy stagnated but Japan is the only country where wages is going down amongst the G20 while consumption taxes/pension/healthcare cost is going up for anyone born after the 80s to support the aging population, and Japan has the exact same issues of other developed nations where property prices and rent is insanely high. It’s beaten out hope for the young generation to start and raise a family. You may joke about games but Japanese people rather play games is actually a result of the harsh reality of life there because it’s ironically the cheapest form of escapism they can actually afford.
