The thing is social media is not doing anything that print was decades ago. Give thd people what they want. The problem is the almighty algorithm is really good at it and I dont see how they can put the genie back in the bottle.
Never believe a magician when they tell you that you have a free choice. They are usually lying and forcing you a card. If they arent forcing a card on you, that means your choice is irrelevant.
Replace magician with politician and card with candidate and the statement still works.
The problem is, who decides exactly what a “conspiracy theory” consists of. Conspiracies have taken place, many times throughout history, and people have had theories about them. A “conspiracy theory” in and of itself isn’t necessarily a false idea. Unfortunately, the term has essentially been “weaponised” by people wanting to stifle discussion (in modern times from the 60s onwards), forcing people that tend to have the ability or inclination to think outside the box outside the Overton Window.
Yes, the apps are made just like a slot machine. They are made to make you want to use them. We can hold them accountable, but we must also do our part to take control of ourselves. That and a good helping of skepticism will get you through most internet bullshit.
Hope whomever is reading this having a good day. Peace!
Isn’t that cute ? The fact that people are poor and desperate isn’t important. But the fact that they are fed Alex Jones and Jimmy Dore videos to watch on social media is driving people totally nuts.
First it was the information age and now it is the manipulation age. Government needs to start regulating the tech industry to safeguard the mental health of its citizens, as simple as that.
Don’t shoot the messenger. Facebook is just a communication platform and it depends how you set it up. You can select family only, or create a group. It can be quite great. It is what you make it.
I deleted and disabled facebook on my phone. I knew that crap is a plague of human emotions 7 years ago. But the people out there that did not get enough love as a child from BOTH of their parents. They are the ones addicted to this dopamine infusion of “likes”. And I feel sorry for them. They need help and fast before they destroy their own children’s minds. Or they can just let facebook do it for them. Its a no win solution.

ReplyI use 1 social media site. Linkedin. And I only use that to get jobs.
I am an X gen, and as a result, I grew up not needing to tell everybody what I’m doing.
I have never understood the appeal of social media. I also don’t have a cell phone.
I still believe that pretty much, only doctors are important enough to be reachable 24/7/365
