Bernie is already doing what you propose, Trevor. It happens (rarely) that he attacks an opponent, but this always concerns policy issues or the opponents track record concerning policy and action on policy.

Attacking brings in better rating. Better rating brings in revenue. America is all about the $$$.

I wish they’d do full episodes in this format once in a while. Trevor is always on point in that setting.

That’s how debates looked like in Germany until the AfD came up. But the talks were boring and no one watched them. Now it’s different, Trump made this attacking style normal. Because it works.

American politics and democracy is STUPID.
Don’t get me wrong ! I have lived my whole life and democratic countries only. But American democracy looks more like dictatorship where everything depends on supid senate and house majority. President can do whatever he/she wants as long as he/she has majority ! No respect for Law ans Justice. That’s sad but truth.

Reminds me of the Trump vs Clinton debates. Clinton gave some specific details of her plans and cited sources, and Trump cracked jokes and made shitloads of accusations and promises backed up with “people tell me” and “trust me.” It was odd to see people debating who won the debates because one person treated it like an actual debate while the other person followed her around clearly making shit up as he went, but people already knew who they were going to vote for so it didn’t even matter.

Totally agree. Unfortunately we live in such a tribal world and we MUST attack one another. Its like how the tribes in Africa used to be like (not sure if this still is a thing cuz I haven’t really been into African culture lately) when they spotted enemy tribes they always had to pick a fight with them and whoever won I believe got their land plus they keep their original land. Basically dominance over both lands. Although I’m not sure whether the other tribe was kicked out or moved somewhere else anyway I digress this is what I know from history classes about the indigenous people of my country. Basically it’s like that. There’s no civil way of dealing an election system
