ReplyThere is no such thing as “broken English.” The English spoken by Australians, New Zealanders, is different from the English spoken in Britain. Yes there is standardize English, but the vernacular English spoken by African Americans, Afro Caribbeans is not broken English. How mant African American Vernacular English (AAVE) has been added to the English dictionary? Several.
AAVE is not broken English or an inferior way of speaking.
I know she had no malicious intent in using the word “broken” but it is important for the correction to be made.

ReplyThat is actually one of South African accent , I have the same accent and the reason for my accent is that I learned English from Bold and the beautiful, young and the restless, Passion, etc and the people who go to “model C” school in RSA have the ‘Americanish’ accent.
