I thought they wanted it done before the end of the year. Now they want to wait…until next year? Ok. Let’s do it right before the midterms.

What would this commission even do? I’m not against having one, I just haven’t seen anyone say what the actual purpose is… Do we seriously not have enough evidence of guilt for any and all offending parties? What the hell is stopping “us” from acting _now_ ?

I never agree with George Will but this weekend he suggested the members of Congress both hate and fear the base. They are trapped into catering to them. They have nothing to gain from a Commission that will be used against them in the Midterms, so screw accountability, screw democracy.

We all know how much stronger and more credible evidence gets after it has ripened for a few months, the longer the better. Nobody ever believes fresh evidence. Eyewitnesses? Pah, let them all die off first. Then we can pore through their social media posts to discover the real truth.

What’s to investigate? The revolution was televised. We all saw it, most of the people in Congress were there. Now, it’s “Too early” to investigate what they saw, and fled from? Why you running? It’s just a peaceful protest, right? Why where they barricading themselves, evacuating through side exits with the Secret Service? It didn’t happen, right? Then why are they on camera, leaving the scene of the not crime?

During impeachment: “We shouldn’t impeach the president for 1/6, the right thing to do is form a fact-finding commission.” Right now: “It’s too early to form a fact-finding commission.” Sometime in the future: “It’s too late to form a fact-finding commission, that was well over a year ago, we need to look forward instead.”

Let’s not rush into this. They might commit MORE crimes and we can really save on costs if we bundle on the investigation. Let’s wait until just before the sun goes nova, then we can really see the whole picture.

Too early to create a commission to investigate? Any investigation done its at its earliest because of fresh minds. I am sure the reason why they are trying to postpone this is because some of they would have to testify against Trump and some of them might be involved

America is a selective breeding program put in place by ‘Secret Masters’.
Let stupid find stupid, let smart find smart.
The gulf between the two camps gets deeper every generation.
We are now in the ‘sorting phase’, in which the true nature of ones breeding is revealed!
Congress-critters breaking the Law, then acting like a 10 year old…”It wasn’t me, you can’t prove it, I’m gonna stop you from finding out what really happened!”
I just wonder, does the ‘Invisible Hand’ want intelligent patriots or superstitious fools to take over America?
Leave affairs to the superstitious idiots, we’ll all be starving and disease ridden in two generations while the 1% makes ALL the money.
Leave it to intelligent patriots, and we will establish Star Fleet 75 years ahead of Mr. Roddenberry’s schedule!
A nation cannot advance in the hands of small minded people reveling in manufactured prejudice.
Reject the hateful fables of the past, embrace the reality of today!

This is such crap. When they aren’t saying it’s time to “move on” they’re saying it’s “too early”! Like every time we have a mass shooting. There’s never a right time to do the right thing with most elected Republicans! It would be bad enough if all they did was sit on their asses, but the only thing they seem to want to do is make it so that the Democrats can’t do anything, either!

I wonder if the Republicans will say that statement if the military forms a tribunal commission on the Capitol incident, with every Trump supporter in Congress dragged before the tribunal and forced to confess to conspiring with the alt right mob and having intended to throw Democrats as sacrificial victims for the mob in order to get them to leave the rest of Congress alone.

Yes, it is usually best to wait a good long time for the evidence trail to grow cold before you start investigating. Wouldn’t want to get burnt… Interesting parallel: the UK waited over 30 years to open an investigation into their army killing indiscrimanately in Ireland (Bloody Sunday 1972). Despite the cold trail, the investigation into revealed the truth, but prosecution of the guilty was not allowed.
